Whangarei. —On the night of the 28th ultimo the WHANGAREI CLUB was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : £6 11s. 6d., nine packets of Three Castles cigarettes, four packets of Havelock tobacco, and two packets of High Admiral tobacco ; total value, £7 7s. 6d. Not identifiable.

Whang— On the 29th ultimo the library in the Municipal Buildings was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom, the property of WHAN GAREI BOROUGH COUNCIL : About £ll 10s., and a cheque for £2 Bs. 6d., No. 2480, on the Bank of New Zealand, Whangarei, drawn by Whangarei Borough Council in favour of Miss M. Heather, signed by A. D. Jack, J. A. Sanford, and T. C. Grange. Cheque only identifiable.

Suspicion is attched to Wilfred Henry Ross, alias David Evans Roach, age thirty-six, height 5 ft. 6 in., farm hand and carter, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, large nose, no upper teeth, mole on right cheek, silver plate in left shin ; cunning appearance. Normandy. —On the 2nd June last DIYAL MORAR’S hut was broken into, and two £5 notes and thirteen £1 notes stolen therefrom.
