Circular No. 9/21.] Military Uniform and Badge—Use forbidden for Police ■ . ■ - Purposes. 1. No military uniform or colourable imitation thereof ; military decorations, medals, or badges ; or badges of the Returned Soldiers’ Association may be used by the police for the purpose of disguise in the execution of police duty. 2. Returned soldiers who are members of the Force may wear their “ returned soldiers ” badges of any kind in plain clothes even while in execution of duty. 3. Unclaimed Returned Soldiers’ Association badges must be forwarded to the Commissioner for restoration to the general secretary of the Returned Soldiers’ Association. 4. Other unclaimed military decorations, medals, or badges must be forwarded to the officer in charge of the district for return to the proper military authority. J. O’ Donovan, Commissioner of Police.
