DESERTERS FROM HIS MAJESTY’S SERVICE
From the Few Zealand Expeditionary Force. Auckland.— l4th October last, on military warrant for being absent from camp without leave, John Graham, age thirty-three, height 5 ft. 5 in., chef and barman, native of Australia, stout build, ruddy complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, right fore and middle fingers missing ; fond of drink.
Matiere.— loth September last, on military warrant or failing to parade for medical examination, Percy Leonard, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 6£ in., labourer and miner.
Levin. —10th October last, on military warrant for deserting from Expeditionary Force, Stanley William Findlay, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 7£in., coal-miner, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes.
Taranaki Street (Wellington.) — 27th May last, on military warrant for deserting from Expeditionary Force, William Logan, age sixty-one, height 5 ft. 7 in., cook and hairdresser, medium build, fresh complexion, grey hair goiDg bald, brown eyes.
Taranaki Street (Wellington). —On military warrant for deserting from Expeditionary Force, George L. Barras, age twenty, height about 5 ft. 6in., carpenter, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, light-brown hair; usually dressed in a dark suit and brownfelt hat. He is incorrectly shown in Police Gazette, 1919, page 4, as having been arrested. The man who was arrested by the Granity police being Andrew Barras, who is referred to in Police Gazette, 1918, page 286, and Apprehensions, this issue.
Taranaki Street (Wellington). —4th December last, on military warrant for deserting from Expeditionary Force, Thomas McGee, age forty, height 5 ft. 7 in., carpenter and builder, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes, scar on right cheek. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 720, and Photographs, 1918, page 7.)
Westport. —loth September last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, Charlie Brown, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 3 in., fireman. His last known address was s.s. “Koromiko.”
Stafford. rant for deserting from Expeditionary Force, Patrick William Toker, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 7 in., farmer, native of New Zealand, stout build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, clean-shaved ; usually well dressed ; slightly stooped ; husky voice ; quiet manner.
