APPREHENSIONS, PERSONS FOUND, ETC.

Auckland.— John or Harold Carter, alias Barnaby obtaining credit by fraud, has been arrested by the Feilding police. He had assumed the name Alexander Liddle. (See Police Gazette, 1914, page 335, and 1917, page 406, and following paragraphs.)

Newton.— A. J. Carter, false pretences, has been arrested by the Feilding police. He had assumed the name Alexander Diddle. (See Police Gazette, 1914, page 353, and 1917, page 406, and preceding and following paragraphs.)

Hastings.— J. D. Goodwin, obtaining credit by fraud, has been arrested by the Feilding police. He had assumed the name Alexander Liddle. (See Police Gazette, 1915, pages 580 and 628, and 1917, page 406.)

Wanganui. — J. D. Goodwin, obtaining credit by fraud, has been arrested by the Feilding police. He had assumed the name Alexander Liddle. (See Police Gazette, 1916, page 266, and 1917, page 406, and preceding and following paragraphs.)

Palmerston North.— David Carter, theft, has been arrested by the Feilding police. He had assumed the name Alexander Liddle. (See Police Gazette, 1917, pages 338 and 406, and preceding and following paragraphs.)

Napier. — A. G. Wilson, forgery, has been arrested by the Feilding police. He had assumed the Dame Alexander Liddle. (See Police Gazette, 1917, pages 351 and 406, and preceding and following paragraphs.)

Mount Cook. — J. A. Carder, forgery and uttering, has been arrested by the Feilding police. He had assumed the name Alexander Liddle. (See Police Gazette, 1917, pages 476 and 528, and preceding and following paragraphs.)

Ongaonga. Martin, false pretences, has been arrested by the Feilding police. He had assumed the name Alexander Liddle. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 502, and preceding paragraphs.)

Karangahake. — Frederick Wills (known as Kelly), breach of Railway By-laws, has been served with a summons by the Waihi police. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 585.)

Hamilton.— Ralph Tarbutt, deserting from Expeditionary Force: No further action required. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 434.)

New Plymouth.— Frank Janies, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount due to the Wairoa police. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 572.)

Eltham.— Charles Pratt, deserting from Expeditionary Force: No action to be taken. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 602.)

Eltham.— G. Groves, false pretences, has been arrested by the Dannevirke police. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 461.)

Patea.— Harry Austin Toon, failing to maintain his wife, has been arrested by the Wellington police. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 600.)

Marton.— - Janies Crawford, default of costs, has paid the amount due to the Kimbolton police. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 461.)

Palmerston North.— Cecil Smith, deserting from Expeditionary Force, has been arrested by the military police. (See Police Gazette, 1917, pages 422.)

Masterton.— Thomas Carr, deserting from Expedi tionary Force, has been arrested by the Hunterville police (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 463.)

Carterton. — Robert Shanks, deserting from Expeditionary Force : No further action to be taken. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 602.)

Featherston. —W. Erskine, deserting from Expeditionary Force : No action to be taken. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 7.)

Wellington.— Bernard Barnard, failing to enrol, has been arrested by the Christchurch police. His correct name is George William Hudson. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 338.)

Richmond. — Reginald George Crompton, absconding from Boys’ Training Farm, has been located by the Blenheim police. (See Police Gazette, 1916, page 377.)

Blackwater. Eugene Herlihy (known as Con Herlihy), deserting from Expeditionary Foree: No further action to be taken. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 298.)

Greymouth.— Thomas Patrick Tracy, default of security: Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1914, page 440, and 1916, page 554.)

Kumara.— James Malcolm Albert Pierson, failing to serve with Expeditionary Force, died in Westland Hospital on the Ist instant. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 84.)

Christchurch.— Alexander Craib, failing to notify change of address, has been located. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 406.)

Lincoln.— Robert James, absconding from Burnham, has been arrested by the Balclutha and Kaitangata police. (See Police Gazette , 1915, page 147, and following paragraph.)

Alexandra.— William Davis, failing to register, has paid the amount of fine and costs to the Balclutha and Kaitangata police. His correct name is Robert James. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 514, and preceding paragraph.)

Oamaru. — Hanley Frederick Fountain, deserting from Expeditionary Force, has been arrested by the Coalgate police. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 530.)

Port Chalmers. —Percy Pocock, missing, has been found drowned. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 574.)

Dunedin. — George Smith, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Balclutha and Owaka police. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 586.)

Hobart (Tasmxlnia.)— Claude Rowe, alias Thurlow, alias Toreaux, theft: No further inquiry necessary, as accused is now serving a term of imprisonment in Australia. (See Police Gazette 1917, page 464.)
