PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland. —Between the 19th and 30th July last, on warrant for theft of a copper boiler and a cast-iron pot, total value £3, the property of W. P. Neumegen, solicitor, Courthouse Lane, Cecil George Johnston, age about twenty-nine, height about sft. Tin., horse-trainer and dealer, slight build, pale complexion, dark hair, artificial teeth in upper jaw (with a gold tooth in centre and at each side), acquilme nose. He may assume the name Charlie Walker, or Johnston, and travels a stallion during the season ; usually dressed in a brown suit and cap or grey-felt hat. Tne offender took the property from a vacant section at Three Kings, had them broken up, and sold them to a second-hand dealer.

Auckland.— 2sth ultimo, that proceedings for failing to not fy his change of address in accordance with the provisions of the Military Service Act, 1916, may be instituted against him, Walter D. Chalmers, age twenty-three, clerk or painter.

Cambridge. —2Bth June last, that proceedings for failing to notify his change of address in accordance with the provisions of the Military Service Act, 1916, may be instituted against him, William John Spick, age forty-one, height 6 ft., taxi-driver and mill hand, native of New Zealand, fair complexion, hair, and moustache, gold-filling in one upper tooth; erect gait; active appearance. Otorohanga. —l9th ultimo, on warrant for theft of two pairs of gentlemen’s black glace-kid boots, sizes 7 and 8, with “ The Patriata ” on tabs, and “ 7 F 716 ” and “ 8 F 716 ” on lining, total value £2 155., the property of WILLIAM JAMBS MADDREN, bootmaker, Harry McCabe, age about thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer and stable hand, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion and hair (going bald), blue eyes, fair straggley moustache; dressed in a grey slop-made suit with a green stripe in it, and a grey cap ; slow in speech ; erect gait.

Gisborne. —6th August last, on warrant of commitment to Gisborne Prison for one month in default of paying £8 fine and costs for a breach of his prohibition order, Peter Florence McCarthy, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 7in., labourer aud baker, native of New Zealand, medium build, ruddy complexion, auburn hair, grey eyes, Eve and apple on right arm. Stratford.-- -Robert McAllister, failing to notify his change of address: It has now been ascertained by the Wellington police that offender left New Zealand as a steward on the s.s. “ Moeraki ” on 19th April last, and deserted the vessel at Sydney. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 557.)

New Plymouth.— 6th July last, on warrant of commitment to New Plymouth Prison for three days in default of paying £1 Bs. fine and costs for a breach of by-laws, Frank James, age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., bill-poster, native of New Zealand, slim build, pale complexion, brown hair, grey eyes ; usually dressed in dark clothes.

Feilding. —2sth ultimo, that a notice of fine for a breach of his prohibition order may be served upon him, Harry Arnold, age about sixty, height 5 ft. 4in., labourer, native of England, stout build, florid complexion; dressed in dungaree trousers, dark coat, and oap ; stooping gait.

Wellington.— l4th ultimo, on two warrants of commitment to Wellington Prison for (1) fourteen days, and (2) three months in default of paying £2 Is. and £l7 65., respectively, arrears due on two maintenance orders for the support of his wife and children, Bernard McKenna, alias Bernard Mitchell McKenna, age thirty-two, height 5 ft. in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, black hair, grey eyes, scar on right eyebrow ; oross, heart, anchor, and “ B.
