DESERTERS FROM HIS MAJESTY’S SERVICE.

From the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Whangarei. —27th March last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, Thomas Norton, age forty-three, height 5 ft. 4 in., labourer, native of Ireland, medium build, dark complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, nose has been broken, Crucifix and star on right forearm, Faith, Hope, and Charity on left forearm ; untidy appearance ; fond of drink.

Whangarei. —27th March last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, James Kelly, age forty-four, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of Ireland, medium build, fair complexion, grey hair, blue eyes. He'is believed to be identical with Bernard Kelly, alias James Kelly, alias Thomas Kelly, referred to in Police Gazette, 1916, page 162.

Wellsford. —lsth December last, ou military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, John Henry Willoughby, age thirty-one, height sft. 10in., farmer, native of New Zealand.

Auckland. —3rd ultimo, on military warrant for failing to proceed to camp, Victor Powley, age twenty, height 5 ft. 6Jin., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, brown hair and eyes.

Onehunga. —9th instant, on military warrant for failing to proceed to camp, William Stevens, age thirtyeight, height sft. 7in., bootmaker, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark hair and complexion, grey eyes.

Napier.—3lst ultimo, on military warrant for failing to proceed to camp, Thomas Spillane, age thirty, height 5 ft. 6|iD., driver, native of Ireland, tanned complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes.

Wanganui. —Bth March last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, Ernest Alfred Mouldy, age thirty, height 5 ft. 9in., farm labourer, medium build, sallow complexion, dark hair; dressed in a grey suit and soft brown-felt hat; slightly stooped.

Wanganui. —3oth April last, on military warrant for failing to proceed to camp, Norman Manson, alias Williams, alias Samuel Williamson, age thirty-two, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and butcher, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, black hair, blue eyes, small scar on upper lip. Bull’s. —3oth ultimo, on military warrant for failing to proceed to camp, Walter O’Brien, alias Jack O’Brien, age about twenty-eight, height 5 ft. Bin., labourer, native of Ireland, strong stout build, dark hair and complexion, large brown eyes.

Upper Hutt. —4th ultimo, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, John Lynch, age thirty-two, height 5 ft. 2 in., labourer.

Upper Hutt. — 12th ultimo, from Trentham Camp, Clarence Donald Sutherland, age twenty-one, height sft. 74 in., tram-conductor, native of New Zealand, fresh complexion, curly brown hair, grey eyes, scar on left buttock. Next-of-kin, Mrs. George Sutherland, 5 Frankville Terrace, Wellington.

Upper Hutt. —l2th ultimo, from Trentham Camp, Herbert Hill, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 8J in., seaman, native of Australia, pale complexion, brown hair, blue eyes. Next-of-kin, Miss M. McPike, Ghuznee Street, Wellington.

Upper Hutt. —l3th April last, from Trentham Camp, W. Armstrong, age thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 7£in., farmer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, scar on left breast. Next-of-kin, Mrs. Sarah Armstrong, Miller’s Flat, Otago.

Wellington. —27th March last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, Richard James Donovan, age about forty-five, height 5 ft. 2in.,- cook, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes ; round-shouldered; slightly stooped. He left Auckland on the Ist instant as a member of the crew of the s.s. “ Wairuna,” bound for San Francisco, and may return on the same vessel. (P. 17/14.)

Wellington. —27th March last, on military warrant for failing co proceed to camp, Francis Joseph Daniel Burns, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. lOJin., telegraphist, strong build, pale complexion, fair hair, blue eyes.

Wellington. —2nd ultimo, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, Frank Smith, age about forty-four, height about 5 ft. 7J in., labourer, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, brown moustache; fond of drink. (P. 17/14.)

Wellington. —27th March last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, Harold William Seward, age thirty, height about 5 ft. 7in., ploughman, native of England, medium build, fair hair and complexion. He was last employed at Tokanui Mental Hospital. (P. 17/14.)

Wellington. —2nd ultimo, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, George Connell, age thirty-nine, height about 5 ft. 9 in., supposed carpenter, fair hair turning grey and going bald, blue eyes, prominent nose, small features, clean-shaved; talkative; fond of drink. Taranaki Street (Wellington).— 9th January last, on military warrant for failing to proceed to camp, Henry Tyler, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. sJin., labourer, native of England, fair hair and complexion, grey eyes.

Christchurch. — 6th March last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, John Cooney, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., farm labourer, native of Ireland, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair and moustache ; usually dressed in a grey suit and cap.

Leeston. 29th March last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, George Gilmour, age about thirty-four, height 5 ft. 7 in., farm labourer and gardener, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale fair complexion, light-brown hair; dressed in a dark suit and grey soft-felt hat; deformed feet; discoloured teeth; stooping gait.

Timaru.— 13th April last, on military warrant for failing to proceed to camp, Aloysius Patrick Nolan, age twenty-one, height sft. sin., medium build, dark hair and complexion, dark grey eyes.

Timaru.— llbh April, on military warrant for failing to proceed to camp, William Ryan, age twenty-eight,, height 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes ; weight 137 lb.

Dunedin. —22nd March last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, Charles Sturrick Rumsey, age about thirty, height about sft. 7in., labourer, strong build, curly brown hair, grey eyes, prominent nose, full face, clean-shaved.

Lumsden. —Bth Maroh last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, Samuel O’Connell, age twenty-two, height sft. 6 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair clean-shaved ; usually dressed in a dark-tweed suit and cap.
