MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION.

Resignation. No. 1843. Constable Clayton, Joseph Freer. 31st August, 1916. Prohibition of XJse of Word “ Anzac." With reference to the notice published in the Police Gazette, 1916, page 624, prohibiting the use of the word “Anzac” in connection with any trade or business, members of the Force are hereby directed to report any cases of contravention of this prohibition which come under their notice, so that the matter may be submitted to the AttorneyGeneral for his direction oh the question of prosecuting. Ig will be observed that under section 33, subsection (4), of War Legislation Amendment Act, 1916, the proprietor of a registered trade-mark containing the word “ Anzac ” may continue to use such trade-mark for a period not exceedingthree months after the date of the notice prohibiting the use of the word. Motor Regulation Act, 1908. Part II of the Motor Regulation Act, 1908, has been brought into operation in the Kawhia County, and the Kawhia County Council has been assigned the letters “KWA” and the numerals “ 1 to 500” as suitable distinguishing marks. The list published in Police Gazette, 1916, page 475, is to be amended accordingly. (P. 16/969.)
