PERSONS WANTED.

Houhora.— 2oth December, 1914, on warrant for unlawfully supplying pills to one Isabella Prances Housham with intent to procure her miscarriage, George Modrich, age about twenty-seven, height about 6ft., gum-digger and boxing instructor, native of Dalmatia, strong athletic build, fresh complexion, fair or brown hair, grey eyes; usually dressed in a grey suit and soft-felt hat, and wears a gold watch-chain with a boxing-medal attached ; erect gait. He may endeavour to leave the Dominion. (See Police Gazette, 1915, page 68.)

Dargaville. —l4th November, 1914, on warrant for failing to make provision for tbe future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, Robert McKenzie, age eighteen, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, slight build, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes; a half-caste Maori. Complainant, Mary Wright, Herekino.

Auckland. —Between the 3rd and 10th ultimo, on warrant for theft of £4 19s. 10d., the property of his employer, Alfred Outram Horspool, Superintendent of the Provident Life Assurance Company, W. Harry Bicknell, age fifty (looks younger), height 6 ft., collector and canvasser, native of England, medium build, fresh ruddy complexion, fair hair, large blue eyes, prominent nose ; usually dressed in a snuff-coloured suit, soft-felt hat, and black lace-up boots; walks with a roll.

Auckland. 27th ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Joseph Ratcliffs, age thirty-two, height 6 ft., labourer, native of England, medium build, fair hair and complexion, hazel eyes, cross on chest, “ J.R.” on one arm and woman on each arm. Complainant, Mary Ratcliffe, 45 Sale Street.

Auckland. 4th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of his release upon probationary license, Arthur Winter Ludgreen.age forty-one, heignt 5 ft. 6 in., painter, native of Norway, fair complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes ; scar and six crossed flags on upper arm ; ship, crossed flags, star, and clasped hands on right forearm. Tauranga.— lsth April last, on warrant for .failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife and child, Alexander Rennie, age forty-seven, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer, native of Scotland, dark complexion, black hair, grey eyes, large nose, portion of left middle finger missing ; dirty appearance. Gisborne. —4th instant, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months in default of paying £3l ss. arrears of maintenance due for the support of his wife, John McDonald Guy, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 4 in., contractor, native of New Zealand, stout build, fair complexion, curly fair hair, blue eyes. New Plymouth. —sth instant, on warrant for false pretences, T. Penthorp, alias T. P. Simpson, alias Bassett (names probably fictitious), age about thirty, height 5 ft. 10 in., native of New Zealand, thin build, dark tanned complexion, fair hair; usually dressed in dark-grey suit and cap; good address. Accused obtained goods (value

£2 25.) and £8 ss. in cash from Nicholas Griener, watchmaker, by means of a valueless cheque for £lO 7s. on the National Bank of New Zealand (Limited), New Plymouth.

Napier. —3rd instant, that he may be brought before the Court for sentence, Frederick Clark Murton, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes, brown mole on left side of neck and on each upper arm. On the 15th February last offender was ordered to come up for sentence if called on for obtaining £lO from Nodman Toogood by false pretences. He was also ordered to make restitution, but has failed to do so.

Hastings. —26th February last, on warrant for forgery and uttering, H. Harding (name probably fictitious), age about twenty five, height about 5 ft. 9in., medium build. Accused forged the name of Albert J. Perry to a cheque for £l6 10s., drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, Hastings, and uttered it to John Clay, grocer.

Hastings. —4th instant, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for forty-eight hours in default of paying £1 ss. fine and costs for drunkenness, Reginald Rupert Campbell, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 3Jin., drover, native of New Zealand, slim build, dark complexion, brown hair and eyes, left thumb-nail split; usually dressed in ridingpants and leggings, dark coat and vest, and grey-felt hat.

Taihape. —23rd March last, on warrant of commitment to Wanganui Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £5 3s. fine and costs for threatening behaviour, Francis Henry Ashton, alias Brown, alias Bennett, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 4fin., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes, scar over left eyebrow and on left side of head. Palmerston North. —l(hh April last, on warrant for forgery and uttering, J. Williams (name probably fictitious), age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 7 in., labourer and drover, native of Australia, medium build, dark hair and oomplexion. Accused forged the name of J. Buchanan to a cheque for £l2 10s., drawn on the Bank of New South Wales, Stratford, and uttered it to William Dale, hotelkeeper.

Masterton. —3rd ultimo, on warrant for leaving New Zealand without the permission of a Magistrate while arrears were due on a maintenance order for the support of his mother, Garnet Wolseley King, age forty, height about 5 ft. 8 in., canvasser or agent, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark complexion and eyes. Accused left Auckland for Svdney on the 3rd ultimo. His arrest is not desired outside this Dominion.

Wellington. —7th instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Colin Hector Kempton, age twentynine, height about 5 ft. 4 in., baker, native of New Zealand, thin build, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes, tattooed on both forearms, half ring on left middle finger, tip of left little finger missing ; walks with short quick steps. Complainant, Virginia Marion Kempton, 144 Clyde Quay. (See Police Gazette, 1909, page 269.)

Wellington. —l2th ultimo, that a summons may be served upon him for failing to maintain his wife, Charles Oakley Clarke, age about thirty-five, height about sft. 11 in., butcher, medium build, fresh complexion, upper teeth artificial; good appearance. Complainant, Edith Lilian Clarke.

Wellington. —loth instant, on warrant for failing to maintain b>s two obiHren, inmates of the Home of Compassion, Thomas Patrick Drury, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer and cook, native of England, medium build, dark hair and complexion. His photograph is filed in the Superintendent’s Office, Wellington. Inquiry by tne Education Department.

Christchurch.— 2sth March last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his four children, inmates of the Christchurch Receiving Home, Joseph Ayers, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 7Jin., labourer, naiive of New Zealand, medium build, dark hair and complexion, grey eyes. Christchurch. —28th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to military custody for twenty-eight days in default of paying £5 10s. fine and costs for a breach of the Defence Act, Edward Henry Frost, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer and baker, native of New Zealand, slim build, pale complexion, long dark hair, grey eyes. Christchurch. —2oth ultimo, that a summons may be served upon him for a breach of his prohibition order, James Joseph Donnelly, age forty-two, height 5 ft. 7in., miner and groom, native of New Zealand, stout build, dark complexion, grey hair, brown eyes, tip of right thumb has been crushed. Oamaru. —loth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Prison for one month in default of paying £5 10s. fine and costs for a breach of the Licensing Act, James Hastings, age fifty-five, height 5 ft. 9 in., cook, native of England, medium build, fair complexion, grey hair.

Dunedin. —loth instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, Peter Currie age twentyseven, height 5 it. 7 in., traveller and guesser, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, scar over left eye ; usually dressed in a lightgrey suit and grey cap. Dunedin. —25th ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his children, Gustav Zwiebel, alias Adler, age thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 6 in., french-polisher, dealer, and traveller, native of Hungary, medium build, dark hair, grey eyes ; usually dressed in black-and-white-striped trousers, black serge coat and vest, and dark-green overcoat; a heavy cigarette-smoker. Complainant, Mrs. Zwiebel, 258 High Street.
