SUPPOSED INCENDIARISM.
Parnell. — A fire occurred on the night of the 22nd April last, whereby J. J. Craig’s stables in St. George’s Bay Road, together with 208 horses and a large quantity of harness and fodder, were destroyed. At an inquest held subsequently, the Coroner, Mr. E. 0. Cutten, S.M., returned the following verdict: “ I find that the building situated in St. George’s Bay Road, Parnell, and belonging to J. J. Craig (Limited), and used by that company as a stable, was destroyed by fire on the 22nd April, 1915 ; but the evidence is insufficient to show the cause and origin of the fire, though it appears probable that it was due to incendiarism on the part of some person or persons unknown.”
