ABANDONED CHILD.
Christchurch.—The child found abandoned on the 4th ultimo has been identified as belonging to a woman calling herself Mrs. Doris Templar or Miss Doris Evans, whose description is as follows : Age about thirty-one, short stout nuggety build, small features, round face, straight dark hair which is very scanty, medium complexion, all teeth missing, pale eyes, slightly freckled, neat figure. She stated that she was born at Lower Hutt, and is supposed to have relations in the Mangaweka district. She has the appearance of a servant, is supposed to be single, and is in possession of the following clothes: A tan sport’s coat, a small black-felt hat without trimming, a white-straw hat with a red rose, a fawn ramcoat, a black frock, a grey frock, a blue skirt with white stripes, a tussore-silk blouse, and wears a gold ring set with a red and a white stone. If located, she is to be kept under surveillance, and an urgent telegram sent to the Superintendent of Police, Christchurch. (See Police Gazette , 1915, page 143.)
