INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.
London (England).— lnquby is requested for Charles Pamplin, who arrived in New Zealaud in 1872. He was last beard of in Auckland; his age, if alive, is eighty nine. He was formerly a steward on a steamer, and is a native of London. Inquiry by the Under - Sscretary for Internal Affairs on behalf of A. H. Penn, Esq., 4 Paper Buildings, Temple, London E.C. Sydney (New South Wales). —14t’n August last, on warrant for theft of £B, the property of his employer, Michael Shepherd, Alfred Owen Feldwick, age twentysix, height 6 ft., medium build, fair hair and complexion, hair thin on top of head, prominent forehead ; usually dressed in blue suit and brown felt hat. He is fond of all kinds of sport, and is a good footballer. He is a native of Kaiapoi, New Zealand. His photograph is filed in the Commissioner’s Office, Wellington. Extradition expenses are guaranteed, and his arrest is desired. If arrested, a telegraphic communication is to be sent to the Commissioner of Police, Wellington. Sydney. —A warrant has been issued by the Central Police Bench for the arrest of Sydney Day, charged with escaping from legal custody at the Central Police Station on the 19th instant. Offender is twenty-seven years of age, 5 ft. 11 in. high, medium to thin build, slightly roundshouldered, dark complexion and hair, small dark-brown moustache only, brown sharp oval eyes, legs slightly bandy, toes turned slightly inwards ; dressed in a dark-tweed suit with fine blue stripe through material, new striped coloured shirt, and old drab-felt hat; recently employed as a railwayporter. Day was under committal on six charges of stealing, and also on remand to appear at the Central Police Court on the 19th idem on a charge of knowingly having a quantity of goods in his custody which may reasonably be suspeoted of being stolen; also with stealing a piano, value £BO, the property of Beale and Co, (Limited). In 1907 he was employed by the London Dairy Company, Auckland, and in 1908 and 1909 by Messrs. McGregor and Montgomery, Auckland. His arrest is desired.
