INFANTICIDE.
—«. Dunedin. —On 25th ultimo the body of a male child, wrapped in paper and a sugar-bag, was found in Lake Logan. At an inquest held on 26th ultimo the medical testmony was to the effect that the child had been suffocated at birtn, which probably took place on 22nd ultimo, and the C roner, C. C. Garbam, returned the following verdict: “ Death by asphyxia, caused by criminal negligence at the time of birth.” In the event of any information relating to the parentage of this child or circumstances connected with its death, &c., being obtained, a telegraphic communication is to be sent to the Superintendent of Police, Dunedin.
