INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.
Sydney. —Stolen from an upstairs bedroom at “ Selbourne,” Allison Street and Carrington Road, Coogee, Sydney, the property of Joseph Gill, Bth or 9th instant, a gentlemen’s gold hunting-watch, Nicol and Nielsen makers, number at present unknown, monogram “J. G.” in raised letters on back and front cases covering whole surface ; a gold fob chain, consisting of five separate curb chains with sliding buckle, seal attached with photo inside ; a gentlemen’s single-stone diamond ring, round wire shank, claw setting; a gentlemen’s signet ring, set with a flat plain bloodstone, claw setting; a ladies’ five-stone diamond ring, “J. G.” and probably date inside, claw setting; a ladies’ gold ring, set with two diamonds and a turquoise on a slanting bar which projects over edge of ring ; a ladies’ gold ring, set with two corals and a diamond in centre, stones wide apart; a ladies’ gold ring, set with emeralds and diamonds, design of two shamrocks ; a long-twist gold cable bangle, frosted on one side: value, £l5O. Hunter’s Hill (New South Wales).— A warrant has been issued by the Hunter’s Hill Bench for the arrest of John Cook, charged with wife-desertion. He is twentyfive years of age, 5 ft. 10 in. high, thin huild, dark complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, scar on upper lip, turned-up nose; dressed, when last seen, in a dark navy-blue sac suit, black hard hat, and black lace-up boots; a sawyer. Supposed to have gone either to northern rivers or New Zealand. (See New South Wales Police Gazette , 1911, page 60.)
Albury (New South Wales). A. Dunen, that an order may be served on him to deliver up accoutrements served to him as a gunner in the artillery. Description: Age twenty-three, height sft. Bin., weight about 10 st., 36 in. chest-measurement, light-brown hair,
slightly stooped shoulders. He joined Wirth’s Circus, and was discharged at Timaru about the 7th January last. He and three others discharged from the circus are supposed to be in the Canterbury District, harvesting. (11/15.)
