Tokomaru Bay —7th instant, from a cottage, the property of WILLIAM GLASS, carpenter, a silver Geneva watch, “ W. S. Glass ” inscribed on the inside ; a Bengal razor with black handle, in a black case : value, £3 ss. Identifiable.
Napier.— l3th ultimo, from Hastings Street, the property of FREDERICK PULFORT, a gentlemen’s bicycle, No. 291603, “Governor Premier Cycle-works” on head, blackenamelled frame with red lines, baok-pedalling brake, Eadie
Coaster hub, outrigger turned-down handles, black handle grips ; value, £l4. Identifiable.
Wellington.— 4th or sth instant, the shop of FRANCIS KITTO (trading as Kitto and Graham) was broken into, and the following goods stolen: Twenty-five yards of tweed, black ground with faint orange-and-blue-tinted stripe, value £l2 10s.; twelve and a quarter yards of tweed, black ground with small indistinot white speckled check, value £6 2s. 6d. Identifiable by general appearance, if found in the roll. There is supposed to be very little of it in New Zealand.
Wellington.— 6th instant, from the bedroom of the Rev. H. BURNETT, Willowbank Boardinghouse, a gold lever hunting-watch, No. 41766, “H. B.B.”on front case. (See Police Gazette, 1911, page 67.) Suspicion strongly attached to Robert Ferguson, alias James Hutchinson. (See Police Gazette, 1905, page 69, and current Gazette, page 66.) He has gone to Greymouth, where he will probably get employment as cook.
Westport.— l2th instant, from the cabin of WALTER R. ERSKINE (ironmoulder, Greymouth), on the s.s. “ Arahura,” at Nelson, a silver hunting-watch, maker Baume, value £3; an albert curb chain with silver match-box and greenstone pendant attached, value 10s. Identifiable.
Rakaia.— l3th instant, the dwelling of JOHN THOMAS STEVENSON was broken into, and the following stolen : A dark-brown tweed vest with small dark-blue and green stripe, about size 5 ; a Bengal razor ; a pair of light boots, about size 8 ; a light-grey felt hat; and a nickel-plated doublebladed pocket-knife, about 3in. long, with “Compliments, Hotel Chertsey,” thereon: value, £1 17s. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to William Duncan, alias Billy Eriwata, a Burnham absconder, aboriginal, eighteen years of age, about 5 ft. 4 in. high, good build, large mouth, copper complexion, black hair, brown eyes, flat nose ; supposed dressed in grey-moleskin trousers, light-grey tweed coat and cap, heavy lace-up boots; may be wearing stolen vest, boots, and hat. Coalgate.— About 27th December last, from the woolshed of GEORGE CECIL DERRETT, farmer, six fleeces of crossbred wool, branded “ Y 6 ” in black on shoulder ; value, £2 2s. Identifiable.
South Dunedin. —Between the 4th and 6th instant, from a shed in Macandrew Street, the property of ANDREW KING, three large paint-brushes, value Bs. 6d. each; a new varnish-brush, large size, value Bs. 6d. One of the brushes has a twist in the handle, and another has a ring cut round the top of the handle.
