Auckland. —30th December last, from CHARLES HAIN, sheep-drover, a sable and white collie dog, about four years old, answers to the name of Carlo, broad white ring round the neck broken a little on one side, broad head, small ears, white down the face, white breast, white paws, more white on one paw than the other; value, about £SO.

Auckland. — 29th October last, from JOHN RIGG-, while under the influence of liquor, a gentlemen’s double gold albert curb-pattern chain, silver medal attached with “ Buff Orpington, Ulveston, Barrow-in-Furness, England,” inscribed thereon, a George 111 guinea suspended from the centre of chain ; value, £9. Between 18th and 20th ultimo, from the cabin of HELEN CURTIN on the s.s. “ Mokoia,” between Gisborne and Auckland, a red-morocco jewel-box with silver handle, containing a ladies’ gold albert chain, with sliding barrel thereon, gold tassel on end, square belcher pattern (illustration No. 33), has a gold-mounted greenstone pendant and gold-mounted reddish variegated stone pendant attached ; a gold dress ring, set with a diamond and two sapphires ; a gold dress ring, set with a sapphire and two rubies; a gold dress ring, set with an amethyst in centre (two stones missing) ; a gold dress ring, set with amethyst in centre, one ruby at side (one stone missing): total value, £25. Identifiable.

Ponsonby. —lßth ultimo, from the dwelling of JAMES MUNRO, a gentlemen’s well-worn 18 ct. gold hunting-watch, Nos. 687 and 15565 over 37 ; value, £2O. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to a Man (name unknown) who was drinking with complainant, age about thirty-five, height about sft. 4in., supposed seaman, stiff build, fair complexion, blue eyes ; dressed in dark-blue suit and greenish-coloured cap, gold chain across his vest, and represents that he has been in the navy and is a pugilist; fond of drink, and frequents hotels.

Tolaga Bay. —4th or sth ultimo, from a paddock, the property of JAMES CALNAN, a dark-bay gelding, about eight years old, 15 hands high, no shoes, long tail and mane, large white star on forehead running towards one eye, thickset build, branded “ 9 ” on off shoulder, also a brand on near shoulder (supposed “ R ”); value, £l2. Identifiable.

Richmond. —17th ultimo, from Salisbury Road, the property of GEORGE WELLS, farmer, a gentlemen’s openfaced keyless silver watch, Roman figures, “ Brown and Kerr, Nelson,” on dial, No. 1928368, an open brass curb chain attached ; value, £2 10s.

Oamaru. —30th or 31st December last the TOKARAHI POST-OFFIGE was broken into and a cash-box stolen containing about £3 worth of silver and coppers, and a stampbook containing about twelve shillings’ worth of stamps from half-penny to sixpenny. Dunedin.— Between the 3rd and 21st ultimo, from the bedroom of ARTHUR TRETHEWAY, saddler, a light yel-lowish-coloured waterproof mackintosh, tartan lining (the

lining at the bottom is not sewn to the coat), two side pockets; value, £2 ss. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to John Lang Smith, age forty-three, height 5 ft. 9f in., bookmaker and spieler, native of New Zealand, dark complexion, black hair turning grey, brown eyes, large nose, soar or left wrist and chin.
