MISSING.
Auckland. —Since 7th ultimo, George Ernest Jones, age sixteen, height sft. lin., bootmaker, native of New Zealand, slim build, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes; dressed in black suit and cap ; is fond of horses, and intended becoming a jockey, and may be found in a racing-stable. Inquiry by his father.
Taumarunui. —Since 19th October last, John Martin, age forty-four, height about 6 ft., labourer, supposed native of England, strong erect build, fair complexion and hair, short brown whiskers and moustache; usually wears dark suit. He was employed on the co-operative works at Aramoho, and left there on the above date, leaving his swag and effects behind him, and has not been heard of since. Fears are entertained for his safety.
Christchurch. —Since about 1900, William Thomas Rumney, age about fifty-nine, height sft. Bin., farmer, native of Tasmania, slim build, brown hair, blue eyes, Roman nose, well educated. He is supposed to have been working at bridge-building, but to be now employed farming between Dunedin and Christchurch, probably on his own farm, as he won a considerable amount of money at one of Tattersall’s Sweeps. Invercargill. — Since 11th April last, John Joseph Finnerty, age thirty, height 5 ft. 8 in., printer, native of New Zealand, slight build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, walks with a swaggering gait. He has several convictions against him for drunkenness and obscene language. (See Police Gazette, 1905, page 351, 1907, page 429, 1908, page 335.) He said he was going to Canterbury, and then to the West Coast. Inquiry by Mr. C. E. Longuet, solicitor, that his signature may be obtained to some documents.
