New South Wales.—lnquiry requested for Reuben Edward Marsden, wan/ed/on warrant at Gien Innes for failing to support his/ w/fe, age about thirty, height 5 ft. 11 in., farm labourm and farmer, dark complexion, dark-brown eyes, stoutisli build, long nose, dark hair and moustache. He was in Auckland about May, 1909, and was living with/'V woujftn named Lilly Robinson, age about

forty-five, tall and tom, grey hair, cross-eyed, large nose, warts or moles on face. They both left for Christchurch last year, and may be found working as station cooks in the country, or keeping a boardinghouse. Marsden has taken up spiritualism, and may pass off Lilly Robinson as his wife. Inquiry by offender’s wife, Ellen Edith Marsden, who has been left destitute. If located, report to be furnished to the Commissioner’s Office, Wellington. (09/1516.)

Sydney. — Two warrants of commitment have been issued by the Children’s Court Bench for the arrest of William Francis Hokin for neglecting to pay £1 16s. on each order. Description : Age thirty-six, height 5 ft. 10 in. or 11 in., stout corpulent build, fresh complexion, blue eyes, high forehead, dark-brown hair, clean-shaved, very fat features, a bootmaker ; generally wears a serge suit; a heavy drinker. He was said to be employed by Will Hutty, bootmanufacturer, at Christchurch, but no trace of him can be found. He is now indebted £ls 75., and if found is to be informed that unless he pays off the amount, or the greater portion of it, he will be arrested. (10/1003.)

Redfern (New South Wales). —A warrant has been issued for John Haynes for wife-desertion, age fifty, height 5 ft. 9 in. or 10 in., labourer, strong build, fair hair, fresh complexion, very heavy moustache (inclined to be ginger), very bushy eyebrows, deep scar between eyebrows, broad nose. (See New South Wales Police Gazette , 1907, page 73.) He was employed at Petone in 1907, and left there about July, 1909, for Sydney. He is said to have returned to New Zealand and obtained re-employment at Petone, but no trace of him can be obtained. If located, report to be forwarded to the Commissioner’s Office, Wellington. Victoria.— lnquiry requested for Jack Lane, who left Glenroy, Victoria, about December, 1909, supposed for New Zealand. He is described as 5 ft. 9 in. or 10 in. high, very dark hair (inclined to be curly in front). He may be found in some of the mining districts. Inquiry by J. W. Anderson, Glenroy, Victoria. England.— lnquiry requested for George Frederick White, age sixty, short slight upright build, fair complexion, bald, thin moustache, sharp features, large brown eyes, was manager at Elkington and Co’s., silversmiths, Birmingham. He left Liverpool in 1904, and joined his brother, Thomas White, at Opotiki, New Zealand. He left there in July, 1905, and has not been heard of since. England.— lnquiry requested for Albert Hillier, age thirty-eight, height bit. yin., able seaman, native of England, fair hair, grey dyesr. He left London in 1905 by the s.b. “Ruapehu” for/Lystelton. He left the ship at Wellington, and was last/hesfrd of at Alfredton, where he was employed by Charles Firm, flax-cutting, from the 7th Febru-

ary, 1907, to the Ist April same year. No further trace of him can be obtained in the district. Inquiry by John pi Cully, Dulwich Village, London. (10/789.) 0 7 Halifax (Nova Scotia.)— lnquiry requested for' Frank Morris Brennan, age thirty-two, height about 5 ft. 9in. or 10 in., dark complexion, dark eyes. He was in the Imperial Light Horse in the Boer War, and is said to have come to New Zealand about seven or eight years ago, and may have taken up farming. Inquiry by his brother, who is a member of the North-west Mounted police, that a settlement of property and a land grant to his brother from the Canadian Government may be settled. (10/1141.)
