INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.
Sydney. —A warrant has been issued by the Central Polioe Bench, Sydney, for the arrest of Alfred Dale, charged with Frank Anderson, carter, now under arrest, with conspiring to defeat the ends of justice. He is thirtyfive years of age, about 5 ft. Bin. high, 10 stone weight, medium build, smooth pale complexion, black hair inclined to be wavy (thin on top), clear bluish-grey eyes, black medium moustache ; when last seen was clean-shaved ; sensual mouth; generally dressed well in dark-blue coat, light vest and trousers ; a barber. Has a brother, Charles Dale, said to be living in Windmill Street, North Sydney; and another brother, J. C. Dale, whose address is Greenbushes, West Australia ; also another brother, Frank Dale, who is said to be a soldier in Victoria Barracks, Sydney. It is said that Dale may try and make to his brother in West Australia. The arrest of this offender is very desirable. The offence is indictable in this State. Was last heard of at Newcastle, New South Wales. (08/2614.)
Kogarah. —A warrant has been issued by the Newtown Bench for the arrest of Colin Campbell, charged with wife-desertion. He is forty-five years of age, 5 ft. 8 in. high, medium build, fair complexion, reddish moustache only; a labourer. Said to be in New Zealand. Complainant, Jean Campbell, St. Catherine Street, Mortdale. (See New South Wales Police Gazette, 1908, page 430.)
Marrickvillh. —A warrant has been issued by the Newtown Bench for the arrest of William Charles Fry, charged with wife-desertion. He is fifty-two years of age, about 5 ft. 4 in. or 5 in. high, medium build, fair complexion, grey hair and moustache only, blue eyes, bandy-legged, nose slightly on one side; usually dressed in dark clothes; a blacksmith ; an Englishman. Last heard of at Wellington, New Zealand. Complainant, Susan Fry, 11 Garden Street, Marrickville. (See New South Wales Police Gazette, 1908, page 430.)
England. Hedges, age thirty-nine, height about 5 ft. 7 in., stoker, native of London. He left England in 1898 for San Francisco, and came to New Zealand about six years ago. He was employed about three years ago by the Meat Export Company, Wellington, and left there intending to return to San Francisco. Inquiry by Mrs. Clara Hedges Jacobs, London. (08/2439.)
"’"San Quentin (California). —Inquiry requested for Robert Thompson, alias Bob Thompson, for violation of his parole from San Quentin Prison. Description : Age thirtytwo, height 5 ft. sJin,, labourer, native of Melbourne, Australia, 164 lb. weight, foot size 7, hat size 7, blue eyes, dark-brown hair, small mouth, eyebrows meet, short bull-neck, stiff build, Cockney accent, small scar above forehead, boil-soar back fof neck (left side), small mole base of neck (right side), small bunchy scar on left shank. Has a tendency to associate with prize-fighters and hangers-on round sporting places. He was sentenced to fifteen years for robbery. If traced, information to be forwarded to the Commissioner’s Office, Wellington, before he is arrested. (08/2616.)
