Auckland.— Harry Williams is charged on warrant with forging and uttering an order to John Daisley, tailor, on the 6th ultimo. Description : Colonial, hangs after racehorses, twenty-two years of age, 5 ft. 7 in. or 8 in. high, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair ; dressed in light check sac suit with patch pockets, hard black-felt hat; has also a light-brown sac suit. Supposed gone towards New Plymouth. He gave complainant an order purporting to be signed by his father, H. Williams, guaranteeing the payment of £5 for a suit of clothes.

Napier. —Patrick Francis McCarthy, charged with default of fine for theft, has been arrested by Constable J. May, Martinborough police. Fine and costs paid.

Hunterville.— John McColl is charged on two warrants of commitment to Wanganui Gaol for three months, for obscene language. Description : A native of New Zealand, twenty-one years of age, about 5 ft. 7 in. high, smart active appearance, medium build, fair complexion and hair, which is inclined to curl in front; dressed in tweed coat and vest, and light skull-cap worn on back of head; is well known to footballers May seek work as a stable-hand. He is supposed to have gone towards Marton on the 6th instant.

Raetihi. — William Martin is charged on warrant of commitment to Raetihi Police Gaol for fourteen days for obscene language, and fourteen days in default of paying £2 ss. fine and costs for being drunk and disorderly. Description : A native of New Zealand, labourer, twenty-six years of age, about 5 ft. 10 in. high, medium build, fair complexion and hair, small fair moustache only; dressed in dark sac suit and white-straw hat. He was summoned to appear on the 4th instant, but failed to do so, and was last seen at Karioi on the Ist instant.

Wellington South. —E. Chappell (name supposed fictitious) is charged with forging and uttering a cheque for £2 to Wilfred Higginbottom, ironmonger, on the 29th January last. Description : About thirty years of age, about 5 ft. 7 in. high, stout build, ruddy complexion, brown moustache only; dressed in a brownish sac suit and a black hard hat. The cheque purported to be signed by L. S. Humphries, but has been declared a forgery. No warrant.

Waitati. —Andrew Findlay escaped from the Inebriate Home on the 9th instant. Description: A native of Scotland, bootmaker, fifty-two years of age, about 5 ft. 6 in. high, medium build, ruddy complexion, reddish hair, clean-shaved except reddish moustache, bald on top of head; dressed in dark-brown coat, check vest, dark-tweed trousers, dark-brown soft hat, and running-shoes. He was committed on the 23rd January last from Dunedin, and will probably go up-country.
