Horse and Cattle Stealing.
Marton. —Alexander McWilliam Aiken, farmer, reports supposed stolen, between the 2nd and sth instant, twentysix or twenty-seven woolly Lincoln ewes, a small piece out of top and bottom and two holes punched in right ear, branded Aon the ribs ; value, about £lB. Identifiable.
Naseby. —Francis McLean reports stolen from the stable of his hotel, on the 10th or 11th instant, a black gelding, aged, about 15 hands 3 inches high, top off the off ear, no shoe on off forefoot, value £11; also a saddle, with odd s’irrupleathers, and a bridle, value £3. Identifiable. Supposed stolen by the person who broke into the hotel. (See this issue of Gazette, under “Housebreaking, &c.”)
Gore. —Kenneth Fraser, shepherd, reports stolen, on the 23rd or 24th August last, a year-old bay thoroughbred colt, with black points, hands high, no visible brands ; value, £ls. Identifiable.
