Deserters from His Majesty’s Service.
From H.M.S. “Torch,” at Sydney.” On 27th November, 1901. Walter B. West, A. 8., twtnty-five years of age, a native of England, sft. 6in. high, light-brown hair, grey eyes, fair complexion, tattooed on arms, bracelet on right arm.
From H.M.S. “ Katoomba,” at Sydney. On 29th November, 1901. Thomas James Sambruck, stoker, twenty years of age, a nadve of Wales, 5 ft. 5 in. high, light-brown hair, brown eyes, dark complexion, R.S.M.L.T.S. on left arm, coat-of-arms on chest. A reward not exceeding £3 will be paid for the apprehension of eaoh of the above offenders.
From s.s. “ Discovery ,” at Lyttelton. On 6th December, 1901.
Henry J. Baker, English, twenty six or twenty-seven years of age, 5 ft. 10 in. high, square strong build, pale complexion, light-brown hair, clean-shaved, heavy features, swaggering gait, scar on right forearm, thistle on left wrist; an A.B. from the Royal Navy. Was last seen at Christchurch on sth instant. A reward of £2 will be paid for the apprehension of the above absentee.
