Auckland.- William McKnight is charged on war rant with theft, on the sth July, 1901, of £1 10s., the money of Oscar Robeit Fair, photographer, Victoria Street. Description: A native of New Zealand, a travelling agent,

about twenty-three years of age, 5 ft. 6 in. high, fair complexion, slight fair moustache; dressed in fawn-coloured tweed suit and tweed cap, sometimes wears a chesterfield coat. His sister, Mrs. Christian, resides off Newton Road. Offender was travelling for complainant, and collected the above amount, but failed to account for it.

Auckland. —William Diamond, scenic artist, reports stolen from his shop in Victoria Street, on the 23rd October last, an oil painting 8 in. by 10 in. (trees with city in the distance), in 3 in. gilt frame ; value, £1 10s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —Albert Carvel, seaman, reports stolen from his locker in the s.s. “ Tongariro,” on the Bth ultimo, an open-faced silver lever watch, No. 61522; a silver curb chain with small links, a silver locket with metal centre, and a Russian coin attached : value, £2 12s. 6d. Identifiable.

Auckland. —J. W. Irvin’s bicycle has been recovered at Sydney by Detectives Jones and Maddern. It was found in possession of George Lionel Robinson, who was sentenced to two years’ hard labour for housebreaking (see New South Wales Police Gazette, 1900, page 205).

Eden Terrace (Auckland). George Garlick reports stolen from a stable in Kyber Pass, on the 16th or 17th ultimo, a gentlemen’s bicyole, made in Germany, maker’s name Brennabor, No. 2124, nickel-plated handle-bars, black frame, yellow rims ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Ponsonby (Auckland). — Edward McGinley reports that on the 20th ultimo his shop was broken into, and a pair of black leather button-up boots with black soles stolen ; value, 19s. 6d. Identifiable.

Avondale (Auckland). —Frank Cooke Hail, clerk, reports stolen from his stable, Gladstone Road, on the 22nd or 23rd ultimo, a colonial - made pigskin saddle, sewing on right knee pad burst at top ; a pair of nickel stirrup-irons ; a pair of new English-made stirrup-leathers, holes numbered ; and a tubular leather girth: value, £6 10s. Saddle only identifiable.

Hastings. —Ashton St. Hill, settler, Porangahau, reports stolen from the railway-station, on the 9th ultimo, an old black Gladstone bag, containing an English-leather writingcase, a black cloth coat and vest, a dressing-gown, two new pairs of drawers, under-shirt, two white shirts, two pairs of linen cuffs, four vests (one with long sleeves), a pair of carpet slippers, a clothes-brush, razor and strop, night-shirt, and a new pair of lace-up boots ; value, £l6 10s. Identifiable.

Palmerston North. —Theft of Maurice Cohen’s bicycles : Thomas Booth has been arrested for this offence by SergeantMajor Ramsay, Palmerston North police, and committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. The gentlemen’s bicycle and part of the ladies’ recovered.

Wellington. —Frederick Yagodinski, trimmer, reports stolen from his bunk in the s.s. “ Tongariro,” on the 23rd ultimo, a gentlemen’s silver hunting keyless Waltham lever watch, two screws half-broken on each winding wheel, value £2 10s.; also £2 10s. in gold, tied up in a handkerchief, “ a present from Brisbane ” worked in the corner. Identifiable.

Wellington. —Hilda Blackwell, care of Archdeacon Thorpe, Mornington, Dunedin, reports stolen from her trunk, in No. 3 hold s.s. “ Rimutaka,” on the voyage from the Cape to Hobart, between the Ist and Bth ultimo, a white silk evening dress, a heliotrope vaile dress, both trimmed with black velvet and cream-coloured lace, a white silk blouse, ten yards muslin with white and mauve stripes, embroidered dress fronts, black velvet head-dress, a small wooden box, lid inlaid with dark and light coloured woods, containing silver hat-pins, laces, and ribbons : value £3O. Identifiable.

Wellington. —Hugh R. Inglis, bicycle dealer, Willis Street, reports stolen from the train between Palmerston North and Wellington, on the 18th ultimo, a gentlemen’s blue Melton chesterfield coat, velvet collar, cloth buttons, “Kitto and Graham” on tab; value, £5. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —Alfred Marshall, auditor, reports stolen from outside the A.M.P. buildings, Worcester Street, on the 4th ultimo, a gentlemen’s “ Imperial Arthur ” bicycle, black enamelled frame, narrow handles, cork grips, white tip 3, brake attached ; value, £l4. Identifiable.

Dunedin. —James McKewen, licensee Globe Hotel, reports stolen from his stable on the 2nd or 3rd ultimo, a nearly new kangaroo racing saddle, has D for crupper strap, yellow lining, square stirrup-irons ; value, £3 10s. Identifiable.

North-east Valley (Dunedin). —Susannah Frew reports stolen from the office in her laundry, on the 21st ultimo, a tin cash-box, 8 in. by 4£ in., containing £7 in gold, £4 in notes and silver, and a cheque on the Bank of New Zealand for £1 14s. 6d. payable to Clark’s Laundry.
