Missing Friends.
Jeremiah Connihan is inquired for by the Stratford police that a summons may be served on him for the support of his illegitimate child. Description : A native of Ireland, a cattledrover, about thirty-five years of age, about 5 ft. 8 in. high, very dark complexion, dark moustache only, dark eyes, only one arm ; was seen in Feildiug last Easter, and may go to South Canterbury, where he formerly worked as a contractor. He also had an interest in the racehorse “ Snider,” and frequents racecourses.
James Harker Wilson is inquired for by the Outram police, at the instance of his wife. Description : A native of Scotland, a farmer, about seventy years of age, 5 ft. 8 in. or 9 in. high, plight build, active for his age, long grey hair, grey beard and moustache, bushy eyebrows, dark eyes and complexi n; has a large joint on right finger. He left his home at Berwick on the Ist May last, and wired from Gore that he was going to Balfour to see his son. He arrived at Balfour, and received £35 from a man named Robert Grant, but no trace of him oan now be obtained. When he left home he had a small portmanteau, containing a change of clothing, and was wearing a dark-tweed sac suit and a hard black hat.

David Barclay, inquired for, has returned to Dunedin, and is making arrangements for the future maintenance of his illegitimate child.

Matthew Miller, inquired for by the Auckland police. His body was found in the Auckland Harbour by the Devonport police.
Stevenson. —lnformation is requested concerning Charles Lanharu Stevenson. Description: A native of Aldershot, England, a miner, about thirty-two years of age, about 5 ft. 9 in. high, 12 stone weight, full dark beard, the little finger of one hand bent as if it had been broken. Is weli educated. Landed in Rockhampton by emigrant ship in 1890, and left Rockhampton by boat for Auckland in November, 1899, intending to work at the coal or gold-mines, or on a dredge. About March, 1900, he is supposed to have been at the Thames, and purchased some articles from R. Stevenson, stationer, and was then looking for work. He was accompanied by a man about the samo age, but shorter. Inquiry at the instance of the Queensland police, on behalf of the missing friend’s mother, Mrs. C. V. Stevenson, Mayfield Villa, St. George’s Road, Aldershot, England. (01/684).
