Horse- and Cattle-stealing.

Porootarao. —Peter Jackson, charged with the theft of a horse, the property of Thomas Reynolds, was seen at Maungautari Native settlement, near Cambridge, and left, there on the morning of the 17th ultimo, supposed for Taupo.
Inglewood. —Carr William Sohwieters, farmer, reports stolen, on the 10th ultimo, a black, half-draught gelding, four years old, 15£ hands high, white star on forehead, small white patch on one hind fetlock, long tail, heavy mane, shod all round, no visible brands; also, an old saddle, rusty threebar stirrup-irons, leather girth ; a single-rein bridle, repaired at the buckle that joins the reins, nickel bit, white browband ; value, £2l ss.
Inglewood.— Otto Schultz is oharged on warrant wi the theft of a horse on the 21st May, 1901, the property Herbert Curtis ; value, £l6. Offender is supposed colonial of German parentage, a labourer and drover, about twenty years of age, about 5 ft. 8 in. high, stout build, fresh complexion, fair hair, and small fair moustache, square features, and square shoulders; dressed in grey-tweed trousers, dark coat and vest, and brown soft felt hat. He hired the horse and sold him at New Plymouth for £lO, and left Inglewood by train for South on the 22nd ultimo.
Eltham.— E. Smith is charged on warrant with the theft, on the 30th ultimo, of a horse, the property of Donald Cameron ; value, £l2. Offender is about twenty years of age, 5 ft. 7 in. high, medium build, fair complexion, fair moustache only ; dressed in dark suit, peak cap, and new tan shoes; respectable appearance. He hired the horse on the 30th ultimo, rode to Stratford, and sold the horse there to F. Gooch, stable-keeper, for £7. Supposed identical with Otto Schultz, charged with theft of horse at Inglewood.

Palmerston North. —Theft of horse, saddle, and bridle, the property of Edward Humphrey. The warrant issued for a man, name unknown, has been cancelled. The horse, saddle, and bridle have been returned.
Ophir. —John McCluskey, labourer, Poolburn, reports supposed stolen on the 9th March last, a cream-coloured pony gelding, five years old, 14£ hands high, black points, spur-shaped brand on near oheek ; value, £ls. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to Bocks Mclntyre, supposed Irish, a shearer and rabbiter, about forty-five years of age, about 5 ft. 7 in. high, medium build, dark hair and whiskerp, turning grey. Was accompanied by a man named Pat Ryan.
