James Law is inquired for by the Wellington police, at the instance of James K. Law, Manaia. Description : Scotch, a plasterer, twenty-five years of age, 5 ft. 8 ini to 5 ft. lOin. high, loose medium build, brown hair, grey eyes, shaved except moustache. Last heard of at the Dunedin Dining-rooms, Wellington, about the end of September, 1899.

Andrew Anderson is inquired for by the Hastings polioe. Description : A native of Denmark, a cook and labourer, fifty-one years of ago, 5 ft. 6 in. high, medium build, dark complexion, dark hair turning grey, black straggling whiskers. Inquiry is with the view of serving him with a summons for failing to obey an order of Court for the support of his wife.

Joseph Onion, also known as Joe Cunningham, is inquired for by the Feilding police, at the instance of the Education Department. Description : A native of New Zealand, a labourer, sixteen or seventeen years of age, 5 ft. 6 in. high, stout build, sallow complexion, dark eyes, no hair on face ; usually wore old dark-tweed clothes. He was formerly an inmate of St. Mary’s Industrial School, Nelson, and was liberated on the application of a Mrs. Cunningham, of Napier, with whom he resided. He subsequently went to the Feilding district, and last worked for a Maori, at Aorangi, up to October, 1899, when he left in company with a swagger.

William Wilson is inquired for by the Greymouth police. Description: A native of New Zealand, a labourer and bridge hand, about thirty-five years of age, about 5 ft. 6 in. high, medium build, long thin face, high cheekbones, apple of throat very large; a widower; fond of drink; dresses slovenly. Was at Addison’s Flat, near Westport, about July last, but is said to have gone to the North Island to work for a contractor. He also spoke of going to Blenheim. Inquiry is at the instance of George T. Shilton, of Greymouth, with whom he left his child.

Frank Nichol is inquired for by the Waitotara polioe. Description : A native of New Zealand, a labourer, fifteen years of age, looks younger, about 4 ft. 6 in. high, slight build v light hair, fair complexion ; dressed in a faded black coat, skull-cap, old grey-tweed knickerbockers, long black stockings, and lace-up boots; carried a bundle containing grey-tweed suit, which he may now be wearing. Inquiry is at the instance of Robert John Sewell, of Momohaki, whose employment he left suddenly on the 12th December last. He subsequently worked for a Mr. Murchison, near Wanganui, and left on the 12th ultimo. His mother resides in Auckland, but he does not appear to have gone there.

Alfred Philip Farrell is inquired for by the Akaroa police. Description: A native of Jersey, a baker, forty-four years of age, 5 ft. Sin. or 9 in. high, medium build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, fair moustache only, three or four upper front teeth missing, very talkative, frequents hotels ; dressed when last seen in a dark-tweed suit and soft brown hat. Last heard of at Mr. Acton Adams’ Tipapa Station, oooking during the shearing season. Inquiry is at the instance of his wife, who is in straightened circumstances.

John Wilmot Macrae is inquired for by the Auckland police. Description : A native of Hawera, a horse-trainer and groom, twenty-six years of ago, 5 ft. 8 in. high, medium build, brown hair, grey eyes, shaved except moustache, large nose ; single. Last seen at the house of his aunt, Mrs. Hector Macrae, Ponsonby, about the end of October, 1899. Inquiry is at the instanoe of his parents, who are in destitute ciroumstances.
