Missing Friends.
Walter John Williams is inquired for through the Woodville police, with the view of compelling him to support his mother. Description: A native of New Zealand, a farmlabourer, twenty-five years of age, 4ft. lOin. or llin. high, stout build, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes, slight scar under one eye, round features, longish nose. He left Woodville in April, 1894, and intended going to Wairarapa. This is an urgent case.
Chevis. Chevis, who was last heard of in Wellington during September, 1890, and was then leaving an hotel where he had been employed. He is described as twenty-eight years of age, rather fair, not very tall. Inquirer : His sister, Amelia Chevis, 8, Brandon Terrace, Warpe Hill, Winchester, Hants, England. (96/151.)
Robert Brown is inquired for by the Kaikoura police, with the view of compelling him to provide for his wife and family, who are now being supported by charitable aid. Description : English, a labourer, forty-two years of age, 6ft. high, stout build, fair complexion, beard whiskers and moustache. He left Kaikoura on the 31st July last, with the expressed intention of going to the North Island to push the sale of “ Brown and Co.’s Bronchial Vegetable Astringent.”
