Horse- and Cattle-Stealing.

Wanganui. —Joseph Sinclair is charged on warrant with the larceny as a badee, about the 17th ultimo, of a light-bay mare, light-draught breed, about 1G hands high, four years old, white spot on forehead, unshod ; value, £2O ; the property of Neal Manson, No. 2 Line. Offender is a labourer, about sixty years of age, 6ft. high, slight build, fair complexion, reddish beard, whiskers, and moustache. Lived at Mosstown, and is well known in the Hunterville district, having worked at Ohingaiti. He borrowed the mare to go to Aramoho, and was to have returned in two days, but has not done so. He was seen going towards Marton or Hunterville on the 20th ultimo, and may have disposed of it on the road.

Wanganui. —Douglas Gordon Furlong, Long-acre Valley, reports stolen, between the 29th January and Gth February last, about seventy crossbred hoggets, back quarters out of right ears ; and thirty ewes and mixed sheep, various earmarks : value, £BO.

Auckland.— Thomas English, Ponsonby Road, reports stolen, on the ioth ultimo, a brown mare (ridinghack), about 14 hands high, unclipped, white on near hind foot, small white spot behind saddle ; value, £lO 10s.

Thames. —William Hicks, Totara Point, reports stolen, about the Ist ultimo, a strawberry cow, in full milk, short horns, red neck, tail clipped square, no visible brands; value, £9.

Gore. —Michael Heenan, farmer, Pyramid Siding, reports stolen from a paddock, about the 25th June last, a dark-bay gelding, light draught, black points, rising four years, mane and tail cut short, marked on each hind leg by barbed wire, both hind hoofs split, star on forehead, unbranded; value, £l3.
