Missing Friends.

(See Police Gazette, 1891, page 211.) Re Robert John Wethers : Further inquiry is requested for this missing friend. He was known at home as Martin Wethers, and is described as a butcher, between seventy-one

and seventy-six years of age, about sft. Gin. high, sandy complexion, single. “ Wethcrfield ” is thought to be in the Auckland District. It is supposed that he died between seven and ten years ago, leaving considerable real and personal estate; but there is no record of his death in the Registrar-General’s Department.

Michael Barry is inquired for by the Education Department, through the Ashburton Police, with the view of compelling him to j>ay arrears for maintenance of his children in St. Mary’s School, Nelson. Description: Irish, a labourer, forty-four years of age, sft. Bin. high, medium build, square shoulders, dark sallow complexion, dark hair, thin dark beard whiskers and moustache ; a widower. Left the reliefworks at Waimakariri last January, saying he was going to work at Ashburton, but cannot be found in that locality.

Tin. high, medium build, dark complexion, grey moustache only; dressed in dark-tweed or diagonal pagetcoat and vest, and hard-black round hat; a widower. Said to have gone to Rangiora or Lyttelton, and also to have been in Wellington, but no trace of him can bo obtained in the latter place. Has recently been unwell and despondent.
