Missing Friends.
Information is requested respecting John William Walker> a seaman, served in the navy, thirty-three years of age* sft. Gin. high, dark hair and eyes, tattooed on chest and arms, married. Pie left Liverpool on the 9th or 10th June, 1879, for this colony, supposed by the “Celtic Monarch.” Before coming to the cofony he resided in Tees Street, Westminster Road, Liverpool. He is inquired for at the instance of Mrs. Fanny Walker, Ermine Street, Everton.

(See Police Gazette, 1888, page 180.) Andrew McLaubin has been found. He has written to his sister from Masterton.
Information is requested respecting Frederick Schultze, a German, a labourer and gold-miner, between forty-five and fifty years of age, about sft. Tin. or Bin. high, medium build, reddish brown hair, clean-shaved except reddish moustache and goatee, slovenly appearance. He left Wanganui about five months ago, and is now said to be employed on railwayworks near Nelson. He was married at Westport about fifteen years ago, and subsequently lived for several years in and about Nelson, and was engaged mining. He is inquired for so that he may be proceeded against for the support of his wife and five children, whom he has left destitute at Wanganui. (See Police Gazette, 1889, pages 58, 66, 67, and 77.) Inquiry need no longer be made for Joseph Hughes. James Rowlands pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing from a dwelling at Momohaki, and was sentenced to eighteen months’ labour.
