Missing Friends.

Information is requested respecting Alexr. C. McDonald, a native of Scotland, came to the colony when a child, thirty-six years of age, about sft. 6in. high, stout build, large head, high forehead, fair complexion, dark-brown hair beard whiskers and moustache, Scotch accent. He was formerly a clerk in the Bank of New South Wales at Wanganui and Auckland. He left his home at Turakina on the 27th September last, and went to Wanganui to see the football match between the English and Wanganui teams, and was last seen there on that evening, and was then considerably under the influence of drink. He spoke of going to the Mahakipawa goldfields. He is inquired for at the instance of Mr. James Bruce, Turakina.

Special inquiry is requested to be made for William Thomas, also known as Billy Thomas, supposed English, a labourer, thirty to thirty-two years of age, sft. sin. high, medium build, darkish complexion, dark hair, clean-sliaved except dark moustache. It is alleged by William Edwards, awaiting trial at the sittings of the Supreme Court, to be held at Oamaru on the 12th proximo, on a charge of having assaulted and robbed James Carson of a silver watch on the 19th ultimo, near Oamaru, that he (Edwards) bought the watch from Thomas. It is important that Thomas be found, so that he may state at the trial of the accused the truth or otherwise of this allegation. He was seen at Malieno, near Oamaru, on the 4th instant.

Information is requested respecting William Trevellian, a native of Cornwall, but was brought up in America, a carpenter, about thirty-four years of age, sft. 6in. or 7in. high, fair complexion, large blue eyes. He has friends in Auckland and a brother, Arthur Trevellian, in Napier. He was seen in Wellington about a month ago, and then said that, as he could not get employment at his trade, he would go up country and look for work as a labourer. He is inquired for so that proceedings may be taken against him for the support of his illegitimate child by Leah Turner.

Information is requested respecting Armond Goulley, alias Phoenix, a native of Berville Sur Mar, France, about fifty-seven years of age, sft. 6in. high, stout build, dark complexion, black eyes, black hair, and black bushy beard whiskers and moustache. He deserted from the whaleship “ Mialieu,” at Akaroa, about 1860. While on board the whaleship he learnt the trade of cooper. He resided for some time at Peraki, from whence he went to Timaru and Dunedin, and four or five years since was heard of in Otago or Southland. He is inquired for at the instance of Vicomte Jouffray d’Abbans, Vice-Consul for France, Wellington.

Information is requested respecting D’Hermenegildo Cervero Hermandez, a native of Valencia, Spain, twentythree years of age, somewhat tall and stout, speaks French well, and should speak English also. He sailed from Valencia in 1884, and travelled through Spain and France, lived in Paris, and went to French Algiers,* and on the 12th Feb-

ruary, 1885, sailed from Sidi Bel Abbes, Province of Oran, French Africa, with an English gentleman named St. George (or a name somewhat like it), with the intention of travelling through all countries within four years, and has not since been heard of, and it is thought may have come to this colony. He is inquired for at the instance of his brother, Luis Cervero Hermandez, Administrator of Communications, Ponce, Puerto Rico, Spanish Antilles, America.
