(From Gazette, 1887, pages 188, 189, and 218.) Licensing Districts altered. (1.5.) \Ym. F. DRUMMOND JERVOIS, Governor. A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the sixth section of “ The Licensing Act, 1881,” it is enacted that the Governor shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the commencement of the said Act, by Proclamation in the Gazette, from time to time define districts to be licensing districts under the said Act, and from time to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the same: And whereas it is expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the Districts of Ashburton, Upper Ashburton, Mount Somers, and Mount Hutt: Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,

the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, alter and redefine the boundaries of the said districts, which shall henceforth be those described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE. Ashburton County

Ashburton Licensing District. —All that area in the County of Ashburton known as the Riding of Ashburton, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 14, of the sth March, 1885-

Upper Ashburton Licensing District. —All that area in the County of Ashburton known as the Riding of Rangitata, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 114, of the 17th October, 1884; also the Riding of Upper Ashburton, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 14, of the sth March, 1885.

Mount Somers Licensing District. —All that area in the County of Ashburton known as the Riding of Mount Somers, as described in a special order in the New Zealand Gazette No. 45, of the 23rd July, 1885. Mount Hutt Licensing District. —All that area in the County of Ashburton known as the Riding of Mount Hutt, as described in a special order in the Neiv Zealand Gazette No. 45, of the 23rd July, 1885. Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same ; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Dunedin, this third day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven. Mount Roskill Licensing District. —All that area in the County of Eden known as the Mount Roskill Road District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 42, of the 18tli May, 1883.

SECOND SCHEDULE Eden County.

Avondale Licensing District. —All that area in the County of Eden known as the Avondale Road District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 42, of the 18th May, 1883.
