Horse- and Cattle-stealing.

The mare, the property of Thomas Clarke, supposed stolen from Waiotahi Creek, Thames, has been found dead in a tunnel.
(See Police Gazette, 1886, page 97.) The cow, the property of George Moran, reported stolen at Anderston, near Dunedin, has been recovered.

Frederick Thompson, alias Willy Thompson, charged on warrant with stealing a horse, saddle, and bridle, at Ashburton, the property of James Wright Mcßae, has been arrested by Constable Robert Neill, Christchurch Police, and remanded to Ashburton.
Supposed stolen between the 24th and 28th ultimo, from Small Farms, Pahautanui, a light-draught black mare, aged, about 15£ hands high, white face, hind legs white nearly up to houghs, a little white on one of fore fetlocks, stake-mark on near ribs, unbranded ; the property of William Taylor; value £2O. Identifiable.
