Constabulary Office, Wellington, stli April, 1886. WHEREAS on the night of the 19th or morning of the 20th January last a bridge, commonly called the

Black Bridge, over the Waiaruhe Stream, in charge of the Bay of Islands County Council, was destroyed by fire : And whereas at an inquest held as to the origin of the said fire the following verdict was returned: “That the said bridge at Waiaruhe was wilfully and maliciously set on fire and burned by some person or persons unknown Notice is hereby given that a reward of £25 will be paid by the Government for such information as will lead to the arrest and conviction of the offender or offenders.

On the morning of the 11th instant, at Makikihi, near Waimatc, two stacks of wheat, the property of Frank Simmons, containing about 700 bushels of. grain, were maliciously set on fire, by which they were destroyed. The stacks were insured in the Union Office. A resident at Makikihi suspected.
