THE following land has been temporarily reserved from sale and set apart for police purposes, namely:— All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, being called or known as Section No. 4, Block VIII., Town of Kawhia, Kawhia Survey District, and containing by admeasurement 1 rood 38 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the North-east by Rosamond Terrace, 131 and 30 links; towards the East by Section No. 3, Block VIII. aforesaid, 293 links; towards the South by Powewe Street, 150 links; and towards the West by Section No. 5, Block VIII. aforesaid, 349 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Officer appointed to grant Licenses under Section 15 of “ The Licensing Act Amendment Act, 1883.”

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me in that behalf by “ The Licensing Act Amendment Act, 1882,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Thomas Mackay, Esquire, Chairman of the Castlepoint Licensing Committee, to exercise, in terms of section fifteen of the said Act, a special authority in the

granting of publicans’ licenses within the district the limits of which are defined in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE. All that area in the County of Wairarapa East, bounded towards the North-east by Sections Nos. 789, 812, 869, and 870, Mangapakeha Survey District; thence by a right line from the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section to a point on the Whakaporo Stream where the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 744, Mangapakeha Survey District aforesaid, intersects it; thence by the Whakaporo Stream aforesaid and the Mangapakeha Stream to the confluence of the latter with the Whareama Eiver; thence towards the East by the Whareama Eiver aforesaid and the Waihora Stream to the westernmost corner of Section No. 679, Eewa Survey District; thence towards the South-east and Southwest by a right line to the easternmost corner of Section No. 669, Eewa Survey District aforesaid ; thence by that section to the Kaumingi Stream, and by that stream to the Taueru Eiver ; and thence towards the North-west by that river to Section No. 789 aforesaid, the place of commencement. As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twelfth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.
