Deserters from Merchant Vessels.
John Johnson and Peter Petersen are charged, on warrants issued by the Wellington Bench, with deserting from the ship “ Katahdin,” at Wellington, on the 24th ultimo. Description: Johnson is a native of Sweden, a sailor, twentytwo years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, stout build, fair complexion, light hair, no hair on face; wore black sac-coat, dark trousers, and grey-felt hat. Petersen is a native of Sweden, a sailor, twenty-two years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, slight build, fresh complexion, dark hair, clean-shaved except moustache; wore black sac - coat, darkish striped trousers, and sailors’ cap. A reward of £1 each is offered for their arrest.

The warrants issued by the Lyttelton Bench for the arrest of David Spiers, John Westley, and Joseph Croft, for deserting from the ship “ Soukar,” have been cancelled.
