Deserting Wives and Families, &c.
(See Police Gazette, 1885, page 20.) Patrick Daley, charged on warrant with disobeying an order to pay 15s. per week towards the support of his wife and children, has been arrested by Constable William Strean, Ngapara Police, and discharged on payment of £6.

Robert Thompson and Philip Vaughan, who absconded from the Caversham Industrial School, have been arrested by Constables William Strean and Samuel Stacey, Ngapara and Duntroon Police, and sent back to the Industrial School.
George Cooper Rendall is charged, on warrant issued by the Christchurch Bench, with deserting his four children, at Christchurch, since the 21st ultimo. Description: English, a bricklayer, has been a sailor, forty-six years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, black beard whiskers and moustache. He was recently heard of from Auckland.
