Horse- and Cattle-Stealing.
Stolen during the night of the 26tli January last, from a paddock at Hamilton West, Auckland District, a dark-bay gelding, black points, four years old, about fifteen hands high, star on forehead, near hoof disfigured from wound; the property of J. W. Wright; value £9. Identifiable.
Stolen on the 2nd or 3rd ultimo, from Waikari, Canterbury district, a roan saddle-gelding, aged, sixteen hands high, black points, grey hairs in mane and tail, scar on near hind pastern, branded HT on near shoulder, shod; the property of Richard Truman ; value £5. Identifiable.
(See Police Gazette, 1885, page 27.) George Broad, charged on warrant with having obtained a mare and foal from Roland Jaques, at Masterton, by false pretences, has been arrested by Constable J. Motley, Woodville Police.

The iron-grey mare, the property of Christian Kerr, reported stolen from Babylon, Northern Wairoa, has been recovered.
Supposed stolen during the night of the 18th ultimo, from a paddock at Selwyn Terrace, Wellington, a black saddlemare, about fourteen hands high, aged, bang tail, branded like JRJ on near shoulder; the property of James Coutts Crawford; value £4. Identifiable.
Stolen on the 18th ultimo, from Poverty Flat, Wanganui, an iron-grey saddle-mare, aged, about fourteen hands high, branded C over EB on near shoulder, shod all round; the property of Samuel Carrie ; value £9. Identifiable.

Thomas Sewell, charged on warrant with the larceny as a bailee of a horse, saddle, and bridle, the property of John McMahon, has been arrested by Constable J. Motley, Woodville Police.
