Deserters from Merchant Vessels.
(See Police Gazette , 1884, page 219.) Donald McDonald, charged with deserting from tho ship “ Waitangi,” at Port Chalmers, has been arrested by Constable Frederick Beattie, Port Chalmers Police, and sentenced to fourteen days’ labour.

The arrest of Pierce Hassett, John Williams, and P. Bannon, charged with deserting from the barque “ Emily Dowling,” at Half-Moon Bay, on the 3rd November last, is no longer desired.
