Missing Friends.
Information is requested respecting George Chandler, a native of England, a rabbiter and shearer, about twentyeight years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, swarthy complexion, thin dark beard whiskers and moustache ; speaks well, very much addicted to drink. He was heard of at Lowther on the 30th October last. He is the principal witness for the prosecution in a case of sly grog-selling preferred against one Richard Howard, the decision in which has been appealed against, and is for hearing at the District Court, Invercargill, on the 25th instant, when Chandler’s attendance is required.
(See Police Gazette, 1883, page 218.) Charles Morris has been found. He is at present living at No. 7, Cambridge Road, Wellington.
(See Police Gazette, 1883, page 179.) Count Ferdinand de Broel Plater has been found. He is residing in Church Street, Parramatta, Now South Wales.
Information is requested respecting William Bagg, sometimes called William Brake, a native of Norton, Somerset, England, a labourer, about thirty-three years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, rather fair complexion, liglit-brown eyes, and light-brown hair. He left Plymouth about the 13th March, 1875, for Auckland. He wrote twice or three times in 1875 to his friends in England, from Tauranga, and was last heard of from North Shore, Auckland, in 1877. Inquiry is made for him at the request of the Rev. G. Blomfield, Norton Rectory, Ilminster, Somerset, England.
