Inquest.

An inquest was held on the 7th ultimo, at Freeman’s Hotel, Auckland, by T. M. Philson, Esq., Coroner, on the body of a man named Grutz, who was found hanging by a rope to a lamp-post, near the gasworks, on the previous morning. Verdict : “ Deceased met his death by hanging himself.” Description : Deceased was a German, a tinsmith, forty-five years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout build, dark complexion, wore a moustache, cheeks shaved; spoke English. He arrived at Auckland from Sydney on the 27t.h April last. It is believed that he died intestate, and that he has no friends in the colony.
