£SOO Reward.
Notice is hereby given that a reward of £SOO will be paid to any person who shall first give such information fo the police as will lead to the arrest and conviction of any person or persons concerned in wilfully setting fire to premises in New Zealand. On tlie morning of the Bth ultimo the shop of Edward B. Larkin, painter and paperhanger, Wansbeck Street, Oamaru, was discovered on fire, by which it and two adjoining shops to which the fire extended were destroyed. At an inquest held on the 30th ultimo to inquire as to the cause of the origin of the fire, the following verdict was returned—namely, “ That the fire had been wilfully caused, but by whom there is no evidence to show. Larkin’s stock was insured largely in excess of its yalue.
