Dovedale Club's Annual Dog Trials

r T' r HE Dovedale Young Farmers’ Club TIE Dovedale Young Farmers’ Club X once again successfully carried out their , annual dog trials. The weather was rather threatening in the morning, but improved as the day went on, and there was quite a large gathering of local spectators and competitors. Lunch and afternoon tea were supplied by the Junior Branch of the Dovedale W.D.F.U., and were warmly , appreciated by those present. . ’ The club has four cups, one. of which is open for Y.F.C. and Farmers’ Union members, while the other three can be won only by Y.F.C. members.
The following are the* results of the trials, all of which were judged by Mr. T. Christian, of Tadmor: Y.F.C. Heading event (Y.F.C. Cup) .- — T. Win’s “Jock,” 1; R. Win’s “Mac,” 2. Open Heading event.N. A. Win’s “Spot,” F. J. Win’s “Jock,” 2. Y.F.C. Huntaway event (Y.F.C. Cup). Win’s “Glen,” .1; W. KenyonJs “Pat,” 2. Open Huntaway event. A. Win’s “Spot,” 1; J. Hawke’s “Bob,” 2.
The Y.F.C. Championship Cup for the dog securing the most points in any Y.F.C. event was won by T. Win’s “Jock,” and the Open Cup for the dog securing the most points in any open event was won by N. A. Win’s “Spot.” Show results were: W. Kenyon, 1; M. Eyles, 2. The club’s annual ball was held in the evening, and there was quite a large attendance. The trophies for the dog trials were presented during the evening. The hall was decorated with blue and gold streamers.
