WESTLAND RACING CLUB.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAMME. Already active preparations have been made by the officials of the Westland Racing Club, Hokitika, for their summer meeting, which is to take place on December 26 and 27, these dates having been decided upon in preference to January, at the beginning of which month the fixture has been held in former years. The club have allotted 1500sovs. in stakes

for their two days’ gathering, and the prize money on- offer should attract a number of outside owners to Westland for this popular meeting at Hokitjka. A feature of the forthcoming meeting is the fact that the club is reintroducing hurdle racing to the Coast fixtures, the Pacific Handicap Hurdles, of ISOsovs., 1% miles, and the Tasman Handicap Hurdles, of 12Csovs., iy 2 miles, figuring on the programme, further particulars regarding which will appear in a later issue.
