TE KUITI RACING CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The Te Kuiti Racing Club’s annual gathering is to be held on Saturday, February 15, when an excellent programme of eight splendidly endowed events is to be decided, no less than £1175 being awarded in stakes for this popular King Country fixture. Chief in point of interest comes the Te Kuiti Cup Handicap, of 350sovs, one mile and a-quarter, an event which appears assured of a liberal nomination from owners and trainers throughout the Auckland province. The Stewards’ Handicap, of 180sovs, six furlongs, should attract some capital sprinters, affording as it does a splendid opportunity to win a good stake. The Hack Hurdles Handicap, of 130sovs, one mile and a-half, is particularly deserving of wide patronage from owners of eligible can-

didates, and may be ‘expected to attract a good field of promising performers over the battens. Another event which should fit well is the Otorohanga Handicap, of llOsovs, five furlongs, for horses that have never won a race of the value of lOOsovs or races of the collective value of 350sovs at the time of starting.' The remaining events on the programme are the Maiden Handicap, of 75sovs, seven furlongs; Te Kumi Handicap, of llOsovs, six furlongs; Welter Handicap, of llOsovs, seven furlongs (minimum weight 8.0); and the Farewell Handicap, of llOsovs, five furlongs. The club’s course is in splendid racing order, while the officials are sparing no effort in ensuring that their patrons will enjoy every comfort and convenience at the forthcoming meeting. Nominations for all events will be received by the secretary. Mr. J. H. Trinnear, Te Kuiti, or with Messrs. Blomfield and Co., Auckland, up to 9 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 1919.
