OTAHUHU TROTTING CLUB.

SPRING MEETING. A week after the Auckland Trotting l Club’s meeting, the Otahuhu Trotting Club will hold their spring fixture at Alexandra Park, October 26 being the date on which this latter gathering is to take place. . The Otahuhu Club’s meetings have become widely popular,. and the officials..adopted a progressive policy in further • increasing the value of the stake monies to be distributed at future fixtures. The National Han-, dicap (harness), two miles, limit 4.44, . carries prize money to the value of 350sovs, while 225sovs has been allotted for the place-getters in the Haig Handicap (harness), one mile and a-■ quarter, limit 2.57. All. of ..the other events range from lOOsovs upwards in value, so that trotting owners are given a substantial inducement to be represented at the meeting. These events are as follows: Innovation Handicap (harness), of lOOsovs, for trotting horses only, one mile and a-half;

Ward Handicap (harness), of lOOsovs, one mile and a-quarter; Beattie Handicap (harness), of 125'sovs, two miles; Royal Oak Handicap (harness), of 150 sovs; for trotting horses only, two miles; Massey Handicap (.harness) of 15 Oso vs; and the Grey Handicap (saddle), of 150SOVS, one mile. Nominations for all events cl.ose with the secretary, Mr. F. D. Yonge, on Friday, October 11, at 5 p.m.
