GISBORNE RACING CLUB.
This meeting opens to-day and will be concluded on Saturday, a day intervening. The acceptances for some of the jumping races are not so large as could have been desired, several of the horses that were engaged being amiss, but there should be material for some good racing, and as there are visiting horses from Auckland and from Hawke’s Bay, and an odd one or two from other parts of the North Island, to meet the local horses, the interest in the winter fixture should be as keen as usual.
