REDFERN IMPORTED.

It is doubtful if ever the arrival of a horse was anticipated with so much interest as is being taken in the English-bred Redfern, which arrived in Australia a few days ago. In noting the expected arrival the Sydney “Daily Telegraph” says: Redfern represents the best form in England, as it was last season, and though Sir William Cooper was able to purchase him for 5300 guineas, because of the English rules of racing making vo’d all engagements on the death of the owner, there are grounds for believing that the Sydney sportsman was prepared to go considerably beyond the figure named to acquire the colt. Unfortunately, all horses, and particularly two-year-olds, do not always carry their form from one season to another, and it will be generally hoped that Redfern is not one of these. Isaac Foulsham is to have the training of Redfern, and it is understood that he will go to Melbourne to conduct him to Sydney.
