MAROPIU RACES.
The Maropiu Racing Club’s meeting on Saturday was well attended, and several hundreds were conveyed by train from Dargaville and way stations. Good fields- faced the starter, and some excellent racing resulted. The following are the results:— TRIAL HANDICAP. — Tutanekai 1, Naumai 2, Settling Day 3. EASTER CUP.—Better Days 1, Pride 2, Pat 3. PONY RACE.—Chiback 1, Manoeuvre 2, Fred 3. FLYING HANDICAP.—Chihack 1, Pat 2, Pride 3. TROT. —Jerry 1, Jack 2. STEWARDS’ HANDICAP.—Sammy 1, Fred 2. FAREWELL HANDICAP.—Wairuhe 1, Master Sly 2.
