(From Our Own Correspondent.) WANGANUI, January 8. Jimmy Peachey had Irish Rifle very fit at Bulls, but the Musketry gelding went sore before the meeting ended, and will want a spell. There is stated to be a likelihood of Koran and Crucinella being taken to Australia shortly. Both the son of Pilgrim’s Progress and the half sister to Nbnette are very well just now and if they do go across to the “other side” should pick up some stake money. Stayboy’s new owner, Mr. J. McCombe, is understood to have' paid £lso for that hurdler.

The appeal is to be considered on Tuesday evening by the Wanganui Metropolitan Club. Howler, the 6-year-old gelding by Sou’-wester—Ascot Vale mare, who ran second in the Farmers’ Plate at Stratford; is owned by Mr. W. Tucker, a well-known Wanganui sportsman, who also owns Chase Mab. Howler is trained by a lady, who is one of the most accomplished horsewomen on this coast.

Mr. J. F. Mancer, the popular treasurer of the Rangitikei Racing Club, who ha’s just returned from a trip to the Old Country, was back in time to be present at the first meeting of his club on their new course.
