ARIKH'S EASY WIN IN THE DEVONPORT Y.C. RACE.
The absence of Thelma, Rainbow, and Moana from the Devonport Yacht Club race on Saturday robbed that event of a good deal of interest, as Ariki was easily able to take care of the smaller boats. The starters were: —Ariki, scratch; Waione, 14m.; Lady Wilma, 15m.; Ngatira, 21m.; Kotiri, 21m.; Glady, 35m.; Iris, 40m.; Daisy, 41m. Ariki was first away, and with a nice sailing breeze soon opened out a big lead, and she finished 24min. before the next boat. With the times corrected she won by 3min from Kotiri, which beat Ngatira by 2m. llsec., and then came Lady Wilma and Waione.
